Fixing a pin that landed wrong

Find the locations that need attention, drag the pin to the right spot, confirm. Or correct the address and let Nearmio try again.

Last updated

Every address is placed on the map when you save it. Most land exactly right. When one cannot be placed, or lands somewhere too vague to trust, Nearmio flags it rather than putting a wrong pin on your storefront. Until you fix it, that location is left off the map — not shown in the wrong place.

Step 1 — Find them

On Locations, press Needs attention. The list narrows to every location whose pin is missing or doubtful; the yellow banner at the top shows the same count. Each row's Status says which it is — Needs fixing or Check pin — and what those mean is in Needs fixing versus Check pin.

Step 2 — Open one

The row's action reads Fix pin instead of Edit. Press it. You land on the location's edit page with a Map preview showing where the pin currently is. If it could not be placed at all, the map opens on the centre of the country.

Step 3 — Put the pin where the store is

Zoom in and drag the pin, or click the map, until it sits on the store. Then press Confirm pin location. The button is greyed out until the pin has moved.

Confirming locks the pin. Re-importing your spreadsheet will not move it, as long as that row's address stays the same. You are taken back to the list and the row now reads Placed (manual).

Or: correct the address

If the pin is wrong because the address was wrong — a typo in the street, a missing city, the wrong country — fix the address fields and press Save changes instead. Nearmio places the pin again from the corrected address. If it still cannot, it stays flagged and you can drag it as above.

Changing the address on a location you confirmed by hand places it again from the new address, so only change the address if the address is the problem.

Check it worked

On the Locations list the row's status reads Placed or Placed (manual), the Needs attention count is one lower, and the store appears on your storefront map.
