Each location has one optional link field: Paste a Google Maps link, on the add and edit forms (google_listing_url in a CSV). It does two jobs.
It gives shoppers a View on Google button
When a link is saved, the location's card on the storefront map gets a View on Google button beside Get directions. Shoppers get the store's reviews, photos and live opening hours from Google, which is why Nearmio does not try to work out "open now" itself.
It can place the pin exactly
A full Google Maps URL — the kind you copy from the browser's address bar, with @-37.8,144.9,17z or !3d…!4d… in it — contains the store's coordinates. When you add a location with such a link, Nearmio uses those coordinates and does not look the address up at all. Press Use after pasting to see which it found: "Exact spot found" or "No coordinates in that link".
Short links (maps.app.goo.gl/…, goo.gl/maps/…) carry no coordinates. They are kept for the button, and the pin is placed from the address instead.
On an existing location
Adding a link to a location you already have gives it the View on Google button, but does not move its pin. To move a pin, drag it on the edit page and press Confirm pin location — see Fixing a pin that landed wrong.
Getting the right link
Search for the store on Google Maps, open its listing, and copy the URL from the address bar once the map has centred on it. Using Share → Copy link gives a short link, which works for the button but not for placing the pin.
