The grid shows only the fields you choose. Each is a column.
Where
Choose fields opens the first time you press Edit variants, Edit products or Edit orders on Home. After that, the grid's Choose fields button comes back here.
What is listed
- Shopify's own fields first. For a variant: Price, Compare-at price, Cost per item, SKU, Barcode, Weight, Country of origin, HS code, Track quantity, Continue selling when out of stock. For a product: Description, SEO title, SEO description, Tags. For an order: Note, Tags, PO number.
- Your metafield definitions below them, by name, with a column "Namespace and key" for the merchants who know them.
- Fields that can't be edited here yet, listed apart and not tickable. See Which fields can be edited.
Saving
The button reads Choose a field to start until you tick one, then Show N fields. Pressing it leads to the grid. Once you have columns, Cancel is offered too.
Taking a column away
Untick it and save. A field that has draft changes stays a column until those drafts are discarded, and the page says which were kept.
Each kind of row has its own fields
Variants, products and orders each keep their own chosen fields, their own draft changes and their own history. Choosing a product field does not add a column to Variants.
