The app asks for permission

Last updated

metangelo asks Shopify for permission only when it needs it, in Shopify's own window: to read a kind of row the first time you edit it, and to edit your store the first time you apply.

"Allow reading products"

You refused the permission to read. The card on Home says why, and its button now reads Allow reading products (or variants, or orders). Press it to be asked again. A grid or Choose fields opened directly shows the same card.

"Allow editing variants"

You refused the permission to edit when applying. Review changes says "Nothing was updated", and your drafts are kept. Press Allow editing variants to be asked again, then Apply.

What each permission is

  • Reading products covers products and variants.
  • Reading orders covers orders. A store where Shopify has not yet approved the app to read orders sees "Orders are not available yet".
  • Editing covers only what you apply. The app writes nothing on its own.

Nothing happened

A permission window that was closed without an answer leaves things as they were. Press the button again.
